    Itinerary

    1. Introduction

      A new tour for MW Tours in 2024, our Luxury Taiwan Panorama includes the best five star accommodation to ensure you are well rested in between exploring the highlights of this beautiful country. Explore Taipei both guided and at your own pace, allowing you to visit our recommended highlights, as well as those that interest you the most (and we’re always willing to offer more ideas!). Travel to the most beautiful attractions, including Taroko Gorge and the National Park, as well as the scenic area of Sun Moon Lake. Our fantastic guides will also ensure you are immersed in the history and culture of both traditional Chinese and modern Taiwan.

    1. Day 1 Arrive Taipei (-/-/-)

      Arrive in Taipei. Check in to your hotel then the rest of the day is free at your leisure. Why not make use of your Taipei Metro Pass to explore the city?

    2. Day 2 Taipei - Pingxi - Taipei (B/-/-)


      In the morning meet your guide and travel on the Pingxi Branch Line to visit Jintong, Pingxi Old Street, Shifen Waterfall, and more. Return to Taipei by train with your guide, and make your own way to the hotel.

    3. Day 3 Taipei - Yehliu - Taipei (B/-/-)

      After breakfast you will travel to Dharma Drum Mountain, an important Buddhist centre. Then continue to the beautiful small town Yehliu, and enjoy the unique and different kinds of rock formation in Yehliu Geopark. Then explore Jiufen Village and the picturesque northeast coast. 

    4. Day 4 Taipei - Taroko Gorge (B/-/-) / Taipei - Sun Moon Lake (B/-/-)

      Travel to the famous Taroko Gorge. The majestic gorge has been carved deep in to the marble that is plentiful in the area. On your way back to Taipei you will make a few stops to enjoy the natural scenery of the Swallow Grotto, Gorge Gateway, Eternal Spring Shine, and more.


      Due to the recent earthquake that happened in Taiwan, we will not visit Taroko Gorge until further notice, the itinerary is subject to change. Please see the below revised itinerary: 


      Travel to beautiful Sun Moon Lak. When you arrive in Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area you will take a tour to visit Holy Monk Shrine. Ita Thao Village and Tse En Pagoda before checking into your luxurious hotel The Lalu for the evening.


    5. Day 5 Taroko Gorge - Sun Moon Lake (B/-/-) / Sun Moon Lake – Alishan-Chiayi (B/-/-)


      Continue to beautiful Sun Moon Lake via the Central Cross Island Highway. When you arrive in Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area you will take a tour to visit Wenwu Temple before checking into your luxurious hotel for the evening.

      After breakfast, we travel to Alishan mountain. Visit Alishan Forest Park, Brother Tree, Sister Pond and Three Generation Tree.  Check in at Nice Pince hotel for overnight stay.


    6. Day 6 Sun Moon Lake - Tainan (B/-/-) / Chiayi-Tainan (B/-/-)

      Spend the morning continuing to explore the beautiful Sun Moon Lake area before travelling to Tainan, a 16th Century Capital city. Take a walking tour of the city, visiting Anping Fort and the Old Street for an insight into the tradition and modernity.

      A short drive to ancient Tainan, a 16th Century Capital city. Take a walking tour of the city, visiting Anping Fort, Chikan Tower and Confucious Temple, also visit the Old Street for an insight into the tradition and modernity. 

    7. Day 7 Tainan - Kaohsiung (B/L/-)

      After breakfast, check out and drive towards Kaohsiung, the biggest city in Southern Taiwan. Enroute visit Fo Guang Shan Monastery and enjoy a vegetarian lunch. Enjoy the Liuhe or Ruifeng night market after check in at your own pace.

    8. Day 8 Kaohsiung - Lukang - Taipei (B/-/-)

      Visit the Spring & Autumn Pavillion, before enjoying a cup of coffee at a local café. Continue to Lukang, stopping at Lungshan Temple on the way.

    9. Day 9 Taipei (B/-/-)

      Today you will take a guided walking tour of Taipei, travelling on the Metro. Visit highlights including Baoan Temple, Confucius Temple, Dihua Street, and Taipei 101.

    10. Day 10 Taipei (B/-/-)

      Use your Double-Decker Sightseeing Bus Pass to explore Taipei at your own pace. Recommended stops include Shilin Official Residence, the National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Taipei 101, and more.

    11. Day 11 Depart Taipei (B/-/-)

      After breakfast, the day is free at your leisure until it is time to transfer to the Airport for your onward flight.
