Its sparse vegetation, a result of the long dry months, provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. The park is famous for its large herds of free-ranging African elephants and is home to a variety of animals, including buffalo, impala, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. Additionally, birdwatchers can enjoy spotting a wide range of Kenyan birds, both large and small, if they keep their eyes open and stop at every sighting.
